How to track swim times without losing the season story
Team apps are built for coaches, rosters, and meet operations. Families still need a personal place to keep times, goals, and practice notes so progress is easy to see between meets. PaceTraq is a web app for that personal development story.
What families usually need to track
Most swim households end up with screenshots, paper heat sheets, and a spreadsheet that drifts out of date. The useful minimum is simpler than a full team platform:
- Meet results by event and course (SCY, SCM, LCM)
- Personal bests and time drops over a season
- Goals tied to real events the swimmer is training for
- Practice notes so training and racing stay connected
- A view parents and older swimmers can both understand
A simple post-meet workflow
After each meet, enter the official times while they are still fresh. If you are bootstrapping an older history, assisted import can help load past times so you are not starting from a blank page. New meet results work best when they are entered deliberately after the meet rather than waiting for a perfect automatic feed.
- Add the meet date, event, course, and final time
- Keep optional notes about race plan, splits, or conditions
- Check personal bests and the next standards milestone
- Update season goals if the meet changed the target
How PaceTraq fits
PaceTraq is a family-owned swim progress web app. Parents can manage household swimmers; swimmers can own their history as they grow. It is not a team management system, meet entry portal, or replacement for club software. Use it beside tools your team already relies on.
